The People Behind the Rescue
Behind every rescued cat are people who choose not to look away. People who step in when an animal is in need, giving their time, energy and heart to help turn a difficult beginning into a safe and happy new life.
Our rescuers live and work in Athens, dedicating themselves with compassion and personal commitment to the cats who need our help. They rescue cats from the streets of Athens, bring them to safety, arrange the medical care they need and support them on their journey towards a loving forever home.
Each of them has their own story, their own experiences and their own personal connection to animal rescue.
Meet the people behind our work – our rescuers, foster families and dedicated helpers.

Andreas I started rescuing in 2018, alongside Eleni, and have been an active part of the rescue journey ever since.
Over the years, I have participated in numerous TNR projects, helping stray cats receive the care they need and giving them a safer future. I have also fostered more than 80 cats, many of whom went on to find loving, permanent homes.
For me, rescue has always been about action — being there when a cat needs help, taking responsibility, and giving cats the chance they deserve. My years of hands-on experience, commitment and quiet dedication have made rescue an important part of my life, and I am proud to be part of everything we do.

My name is Dionysia. My journey in animal rescue began in 2019, when I found four newborn kittens inside a bag in the trash outside my home. That moment changed my life and marked the beginning of my commitment to helping animals in need.
Since then, I have dedicated myself to TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return), fostering, adoptions and rescuing cats in need. I also advocate for animal rights and continue to do everything I can to give vulnerable animals a safer and better life.

My name is Vaso. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I couldn't ignore the stray cats in my neighbourhood, so I started by having them neutered. One by one, they became part of my life, and what began as a simple act of helping gradually became my mission: rescuing cats, fostering them and helping them find safe, loving homes.
Watching them transform while they are in my care brings me so much happiness. And when they finally find their forever home, every effort, every sleepless night and every difficult moment becomes worthwhile.

I am Eleni. In 2018, on a road in Attica, I saw a blind cat struggling to guide her equally blind kittens. That moment opened my eyes to a problem I had never truly noticed before — the countless stray cats living, suffering and multiplying on the streets. I began by trapping, neutering and returning cats. By 2019, I was also fostering, opening my home to the most vulnerable cats and welcoming them alongside y own.
Since then, I have helped neuter around 1,100 cats and found loving homes for around 80 of them. What started with one blind mother and her kittens has become a personal mission of compassion — changing the lives of animals who had no one else to turn to.

I am Stella.
In 2015, I adopted my first cat, who opened the door to a completely new world for me: the world of Greece's stray cats. I could no longer walk past the suffering they endure, and I decided to dedicate myself to rescuing and finding homes for as many cats as possible.
I have a particular passion for rescuing and rehoming cats with health issues — the cats that are often overlooked, that no one stops to look at twice, and that would have little or no chance of surviving on the streets.
For me, every cat deserves a chance at a safe, loving life, regardless of their age, appearance or health.
