Captain Hook has already been through more in his young life than many cats will ever have to experience. As a stray, he was found with a severe eye infection. His fate seemed already sealed – he was taken to the vet to be put to sleep.

But Captain Hook was lucky. Animal welfare advocates heard about him, stepped in and gave him the chance of a new life.

One eye had to be removed, and he is completely blind in the other. But Captain Hook has never let that get him down. With admirable strength and zest for life, he has learned to find his way in his world. Today he moves confidently through his home, curiously explores every corner and shows every day how much courage is hidden in this little tomcat.

Captain Hook is a real treasure. He is incredibly loving, cuddly and seeks closeness to his humans. He loves to snuggle, purrs with contentment and enjoys every bit of affection. Anyone who gives him attention receives his whole big heart in return.

His blindness does not slow him down in the slightest. Captain Hook is playful, active and full of joy for life. He can be happy as an only “prince” or live together with a friendly cat, provided the introduction is done patiently and gently.

Captain Hook is looking for people with heart who do not focus on what he is missing, but recognize what makes him so special: his courage, his joy for life and his boundless love.

Anyone who gives Captain Hook a home receives far more than just a cat. They gain a loyal friend, a little fighter and a very special soul who is a daily reminder that love does not need eyes.
