From Compassion Comes Responsibility

What brings us together is our love for cats and our determination never to look away. Greek Cat Rescue is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers who give their time, compassion, and personal commitment to helping stray cats in Athens.

Every day, we encounter cats that are sick, injured, or completely alone. We rescue them from the streets, ensure they receive the veterinary care they need, nurture them in loving foster homes, and patiently support them on their journey to a new life.

A key focus of our work is spaying and neutering, because it is the only sustainable way to prevent suffering in the long term. Over the past five years, we have spayed and neutered more than 4,000 cats across Greece. Every single cat neutered means less hunger, less disease, and fewer lives lost on the streets.

We carefully match our rescued cats with loving, forever homes across Europe, mostly in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, and France.

We may be a small team, but we have big hearts. And we believe that for every cat we save, the world becomes a little better.
